Well, if you did, I hope you saw us there! What a great weekend of Friends, Family, and Wrestling. I believe there were 17 NCAA college wrestling teams in Albany, NY this past weekend and man, did we see some great wrestling. Journeymen Wrestling Club hosted the event at Hudson Valley CC and we were fortunate to work very closely with Asics to become the merchandiser at this event. Sales were brisk for most of the day, as we saw many of the J America NCAA apparel pieces fly out of the booth (tons of Lehigh Brown) along with some Asics gear. We also were very lucky to catch up and have dinner with Neil Duncan from TW Promotions/Asics (Cheesecake Factory!), which is always amazing conversation (great to see you and Karen again). JoeFlo caught a ton of matches on video (with some help from the infamous Screwy Louie Lazzari!), check them out on Flo Wrestling.
Hudson Taylor (All American, currently ranked #3 in the nation) stopped by the booth to say hey!

We also got to catch up with Jeff Blatnick (‘84 USA Olympic Greco Gold Medalist) and we were graced with Randy Coutures presense for about an hour for him to sign autographs.
All in all it was a great weekend of college wrestling!

This is another original design by Eric Maruscak, our in house illustrator. Eric is nationally known for his amazing Chalk art designs. Check out his work at www.pepperink.com!
This week we had one of the VIP’s from J America Sportswear, Jim McCollough, come to town to go over our game plan for 2010 and beyond.
In case you don’t know who J America is, it is one of the largest NCAA Licensed Apparel providers in the country. They always seem to have the most current and hip apparel that you would normally see in A&F and American Eagle and not just plain tees like you would get from Champion or Russell. They sell to a large amount of bookstores and sporting apparel retailers across the country.
We began two years ago with them when we signed an exclusive deal to be the sole provider of their merchandise into the wrestling market. Since then, we have done well over 100 items (hoodies, sweats, caps, and long & short sleeve tees) with them. We currently have over 75 J America items in stock and we are working on new styles and schools to add for 2010. You can catch most of the top 25 teams, including our best sellers, Iowa Wrestling, Penn State Wrestling, and Oklahoma State Wrestling. I would love to have some feedback on which schools and/or products you would like to see in our lineup for next year. I’ll keep you posted when we come up with some new designs to see what you think.
Thanks and enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend!
I have been waiting a long time to start blogging about the sport that I have come to love. I truly appreciate coming to work everyday as an owner of Worldwide Sport Supply and having the amazing opportunity to deliver wrestling products and services to so many of you across the world. I started this blog to help everyone stay in touch with not only the wrestling community, but also the wrestling industry. I will hopefully bring you updates on products and manufacturers, as well as bringing you updates from the wrestling world that I find to be interesting to me and hopefully you too. If you would like to talk about anything or have any ideas that you want me to blog about, let me know.
